Sunday Funday

It’s -11 and sunny today. When the sun is out, I make it a point to try and get out. You see, in my mind, I don’t like ‘wasting’ and I’ve sunny day. After all, it’s winter and we need as much sun as we can get!

Today we headed to the Downsview Market. I’ve never been to such a huge place ever! Flea market and produce market all under one roof! If you haven’t gone, you must go.

Whenever there’s produce, I’m always checking out the selection. look what I found! A selection of hot peppers ranging from no heat to full heat! Bonus: it tells you what kind of peppers and their Scoville rating. I’m so beyond excited! Here’s what I pictured when I saw these peppers: SEEDS!!! All the pepper plants I can grow. Guess how much this tray was? $2! That’s right.

I’ll also be making a small batch of chili crisp this week. Using a combination of dried garden chilies and these fresh ones, I’m sure I’ll have enough to make a batch! (I’m drooling just thinking about it!)

Lunch was at Nina D’Aversa. Veal Parmesan sandwich, spaghetti and a meatball and an arancini. The meatball is so soft and fluffy and the arancini texture was perfect! It inspired me to want to make my own this week.

Of course you can’t leave without having something sweet. So we did! Now we’re on to explore the outdoors and enjoy the sunshine some more!
