Yesterday was parent-teacher conferences day. Busy day spent on Zoom. By the time the day was done, all I wanted to do was get outside. After all, the temperature was not just above zero, but it was 10 degrees Celsius! Unheard of for February.

We headed out to go snowshoeing at the ROC up in Georgina. Did you know that they have a snowshoe lending program? A $50 refundable deposit is all you need for each pair of snowshoes you borrow for up to 2 hours!

It is so beautiful up there. In addition to the snowshoe trails, you can also snow tube, ski or snowboard to your heart’s content! All you have to do is purchase a pass on their website. There’s also a playground and splash pad for the other seasons and a Pioneer Village (which will hopefully operate soon.)! So much to do.

After snowshoeing, we headed for the best Fish and Chips place – Malt and Chips, in Newmarket on Main St. The fish is so fresh, batter so light and crispy, and the French fries are creamy and flavourful! Oh, and the calamari rings are so tender!!!

All in all, a great way to end the day and start the 6-day mid-winter break with the kids! This is going to be the best staycation ever!!!
