The temperatures have dropped a lot since last Wed. It’s currently -11 degrees C. Brrr. We also received about a foot of snow the other day. Our backyard looks so beautiful with the blanket of snow.

I’ve been busy in the kitchen the last few days – making dumplings, chili crisp, no knead bread, yogurt and plum jam. Today I finally got around to making yogurt with 3.25% milk! It was so simple and within 5-7 hours you can have a fresh batch of yogurt. I don’t know why I never made it before.

Since the kids are on their midwinter break, we’ve also been out doing things with them. We recently got a 3-month membership to Skyzone and have been twice so far. Michael and I plan to go when the kids are at school – for our physical activity! Might as well, though not really sure how long we’ll last for! Lol.

Spring is about 14 weeks away and that means I need to start some more seeds. Before I do that, there needs to be some rearranging of trays to accommodate for more seedlings. This coming week that will be my project.

Our chicks are 8 weeks old now. It’s hard to believe that they were only about 50 g at birth and now most of them are at least 10 times that! They are curious, gentle and sweet. Sandy is the best, she sat on my lap while I weighed the other chicks. She’s the only one willing to sit on laps. So sweet!
It’s nice to have the kids at home but we also miss the quiet. It’s not always easy to get things done with them around. But I try to remind myself to spend time with them when they’re here and that I can always do the other stuff when they’re at school! Hope you’re also having a great family day weekend (if you’re in Ontario) or weekend.
Until then thanks again for stopping by and reading my post.
